Acer officially announced the Aspire AS5738PG, a multi-touch 15.6-inch display with Intel’s processor and pre-installed with Windows 7 Operating System. The first model is the Aspire AS5738PG-6306, where the laptop is boosted by Intel’s Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz processor, the ATI Radeon HD 4570 512MB dedicated graphics, 4GB of DDR2 memory, a DVD burner, and a 320GB SATA hard drive. The display itself boasts a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and uses LED backlight. The company says the users will be able to touch anywhere on the AS5738PG’s screen using one or two fingertips to play movies, zoom in and out on websites, edit photos and video, handwrite notes, resize windows, launch entertainment applications and more. Other features include six-cell battery, sports stereo speakers, a built-in web camera, 802.11n WiFi, an HDMI output, and four USB ports. Expect the AS5738PG-6306 to arrive in the US from October 22 Onwards with a priced of $800.

I just found out that we can save books from Google Books library as PDF using a free program called Google Book Downloader (download link below). This small utility allows you to keep any book with full view status on your own hard disk. All you have to do is run the app, paste the book code of the book that you want to download, and then press the “Check” button. The program will then check all available pages. Once you press the “Download Entire Book” button, those pages will be downloaded. Finally, if you press the “Save Entire Book As…” button, those downloaded pages will be saved to your hard disk. Pretty useful, isn’t it?

Obviously targetted hardcore gamers market, the laptop has just been upgraded with higher specs. Including a 2.66Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 processor, a 1GB nVidia GeForce 9800M GTS graphics engine, a DVD SuperMulti drive, and either a 128GB SSD or a 160GB of hard drive storage. A standard configuration with 2GB of main memory would cost you around 280,000 Yen or about €2,435 (around US $3,129). I just wish Toshiba would make more laptop like this one…

Shirtcity definitely caters to a trendier crowd. While some of the sites we visited seemed to be geared more for businesses or the older generations, Shirtcity definitely markets itself to the twenty-something generation.

There's plenty to do at Shirtcity.com. You can browse through the t-shirts for sale at the Shirtcity Club, read through the Shirtcity blog, design your own t-shirt or even open up your very own Shirtcity store.

Designing a shirt at this site was very easy – much easier than it was at some of the other sites we visited. While we'd have liked the text customization features to be a bit richer, we couldn't complain much about the overall design experience.

My original vision of walking the showroom floor with the Gigabyte M528 MID was abandoned after its US product page was removed and delivery estimates were pushed back, so it was with renewed hope that I read UMPCPortal’s news yesterday that the 3G-enabled Aigo P8895 (a model number that was not included in the original launch announcement) would be globally available through mobilx this month.

After confirming that US consumers were exempt from paying VAT (despite the “$861 inc VAT” price on the product page), I was pretty much sold. Without VAT, the black Aigo with built-in 3G and 3-megapixel rear camera would only be $717, less than $20 more than the 3G/cam-less white P8860 MID.

I bought MSI Wind U100 couple days ago, to replace my 7-inch Asus Eee PC laptop. Using that compact Eee PC for almost a year made me realize that the 7-inch display is too small for me :) That’s why I decided to switch into U100 which comes with a larger 10-inch (1024×600) screen. In term of perfomance, U100 obviously beat Eee PC since an Intel Atom N270 CPU is far more superior than Celeron M processor. I’ve also upgraded the memory onto 2GB DDR2 RAM. Moreover, U100 already comes pre-loaded with Windows XP Home operating system, so I don’t have to purchase separate Windows license for this mini laptop.
