Apple Warns iPhone Could Become iBrick

Apple has discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the iPhone software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed. Apple plans to release the next iPhone software update, containing many new features including the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store (www.itunes.com), later this week. Apple strongly discourages users from installing unauthorized unlocking programs on their iPhones. Users who make unauthorized modifications to the software on their iPhone violate their iPhone software license agreement and void their warranty. The permanent inability to use an iPhone due to installing unlocking software is not covered under the iPhone warranty.

iPhone Problem – Does Not Support Flash

Here’s another iPhone problem – it does not support flash. Bill Perry of flashdevides.net reviews his brand new iPhone revealing that on the Safari browser, flash content becomes unreadable. Bill prove his claim by opening nike.com from his iPhone’s Safari browser, and in the end, he got this following page:

Bill tried some alternatives; using Quicktime to play .SWF files and downloading Adobe Flash Player but still it doesn’t help. Here’s something I don’t understand, if iPhone can play YouTube flash video, how come they missed Safari browser out?

So after all the weakness of iPhones being reveal one after another, will the sales also high rise when it reaches Asia? Will you buy one? I know I will.

500,000 iPhone Sold in One Week

iPhone, one of the most anticipated gadget of the year was released end of last month or so. So how did the sales go, after all the hu-ha and the anticipation? According to analyst that has been monitoring the stores, Blackfriars Marketing says that it should be about 500,000 iPhone sold during the first weekend.

Blackfriars says this in their blog:

The bottom line: some analysts claimed that the iPhone launch would be a failure if Apple failed to sell 100,000 iPhones during the first weekend. Based upon the limited data we have, we believe that number was exceeded in just the first two to three hours. Blackfriars’ prediction is that Apple will sell 500,000 iPhones this weekend, and based upon limited sales rates reported, that number now looks quite achievable. The only question is whether the demand and iPhone supply is great enough that they might push past the million unit mark this weekend.
