Facebook To Add Mobile Video Uploads
Facebook has announced the Facebook Platform, which allows for third-party development of applications that interact with Facebook. This app should allow third-party development of applications with Facebook, including Video.
This will let users share personal videos between friends within the site, well also now allowing the creation and sending of video messages to and from the Facebook Inbox. This should mean that users can shot video on a mobile phone and upload it directly into the application, while previously users only post text messages from their handsets.

Although not yet announced by Nokia, details of the sliding Nokia 8600 phone have now been released by the Carphone Warehouse group who say the the 8600 will be available from 30th May onwards, exclusively to CPW and its companies throughout Europe such as the Phonehouse, OneStopPhoneShop and e2save.
Clearly closely modelled on the Nokia 8800 Sirocco, the 8600 is a stylish slider phone aimed at fashion conscious consumers and executives. Featuring an unusual smoked glass sliding cover, the Nokia 8600 certainly scores well for “wow factor”. Other features are a general improvement on the 8800 series, with a 240×320 pixel display, quad-band GSM support for worldwide roaming, and the Nokia 8600 also has a 2 megapixel camera, 128MB of internal memory and an FM radio.
As well as the stylish semitransparent cover, the Nokia 8600 features quite a lot of stainless steel in its construction which brings the weight up to a heft 140 grams while adding significantly to the 8600’s structural strength. Despite the weight, the Nokia 8600 isn’t a 3G device although it does have 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM with GPRS and EDGE. Of course, the Nokia 8600 also has Bluetooth and an MP3 player.
One major limitation is the lack of any memory expansion - the Nokia 8600 just has the 128 MB of internal memory and no more can be added. The 8800 suffered from a similar problem. This means that the available memory can fill up pretty quickly with photos and music tracks which limits the enjoyment to be had from the handset a little. The battery life isn’t great either, with just 3.5 hours talktime and 10 days standby time.

has now decided to make the most of the traffic it receives from people mixing up its site with the world’s No.1 video destination.
The confusion sent uTube’s traffic soaring from 1,500 visits per month to more than 2 million. YouTube now sees about 30 million monthly visitors.

Disable Windows Vista User Account Control
Windows Vista has some extra security features like the UAC or User Account Control . This can help to a large extent to help prevent malware and other horrible programs try to take control of your PC or infect it with malicious software. This is enabled by default which is a good thing for the reasons noted above, but it can become very irritating if you decide login as an administrator.
Just a few steps ,then you can deactivating this feature.
- Open up your Windows Control Panel
- Go to User Accounts
- Then Click on the link to Turn User Account Control On or Off
- Uncheck the box then restart your system.
Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition Supports File Synchronization
Microsoft has decided to restore that feature in Windows Mobile 6 Standard (which is the name of the smartphone version). There’s just one catch. It only works with ActiveSync. And ActiveSync doesn’t work with Windows Vista. It’s been replaced by Windows Mobile Device Center, which has no support for file synchronization.
If you buy a new smartphone and a new computer,they probably can’t work well with each other.

Windows Live Folders beta is almost launch,500MB of free online storage
Microsoft is going to launch a public beta of Windows Live Folders,the beta service offering 500MB of free space with a Windows Live ID, and you can upload files up to 50MB in size.Windows Live Folders allows you to upload your files to the cloud, providing access to them from an internet browser (both IE and Firefox are supported).
While folders.live.com isn’t currently live, soon it will be up.

An Ubuntu-based Linux distribution designed for creative types has been released.
“The Ubuntu Studio team is proud to announce its first release: 7.04 for Intel i386-compatible processors. With this release, which you can download for DVD in little over 860 MiB, we offer a feature that is somewhat reminiscent of Ubuntu Server: on installation, you can choose between the Audio, Graphics or Video tasks; and choose also to install a number of plugins, which for this release is mainly aimed at audio production.”

Joost releases Version 0.10.2
Version 0.10.2 includes some bugfixes and some new sharing features. For example, you can send users a link to the program you’re currently watching. If you click the “i” button next to the title of the show you’re watching, you can copy a link and paste it to an email or any other document.
That URL will bring up the landing page for the show you’re watching. If you already have Joost installed, when you click the “Click to start Joost” link on the landing page Joost will start, or it will change shows if it’s already running.
Google Earth 4.1 Beta
Google Earth 4.1 Beta is now available for everyone to download. Both the Ogle Earth and Google Earth blogs have shed some light on new features that they have found:
- The SpaceNavigator by 3DConnexion now supports the Mac version of Google Earth. According to the Google Store: “SpaceNavigator is compatible with greater than 100 popular 3D applications as well as Windows XP, Vista, Linux and Mac OS X.”
- A new “Tips of the Day” screen appears when you start Google Earth. This will make it easier for newcomers to learn about all of the features that Google Earth offers.

Ubuntu to Create Mobile OS
“Developers meeting at the Ubuntu Developer Summit, which runs through the end of this week in Seville, Spain, will discuss details of the new Ubuntu Mobile and Embedded project, announced on Saturday. Ubuntu programmers will develop a mobile version of their Debian-based Linux operating system in collaboration with Intel Corp., which plans a new low-power processor and chipset architecture designed to allow full Internet capability on mobile devices, according to a statement published on the Ubuntu Web site.”
This is an important development: it is the beginning of a broader standardized Linux-based operating system for mobile devices. Existing Linux efforts have primarily focused on use of the Linux kernel with some proprietary user interface. While that’s technically Linux, it’s not particularly of interest from the end-user’s perspective, and is certainly not an analogue to Windows Mobile. The Ubuntu effort, on the other hand, has the potential, and the backing, to create a standard OS based on Linux that could be a real competitor to WM.
