Spy on your own home via HomeCamera

I was recently asked to look into a home camera surveillance service available at HomeCamera.com.

HomeCamera is designed to be the world’s easiest-to-use home surveillance system. You can use it with any cctv or webcam. It can be accessed from any browser on any OS (including MacOS X or Linux), from any PDA or any mobile phone (no additional software required), worldwide. Use HomeCamera for surveillance, to monitor the kids, the baby, your pet… anything you like.
Motion detection features are included. The system also supports Auto-Record, which lets you set it up to take snapshots or videos all through the day and store them on the server for anytime anywhere access.

To set up the system you need to create a free account, download the free Windows webcam security software and then set it up.The setup of the software was pretty painless. The first order of business after running the app is to add a camera. It asks for the email and password that you registered with and then searches for the camera.

Basically the application works by beaming images (from a PC connected web-cam) of your home directly to your phone. The service is currently costless, though paid subscriptions will be implemented soon (hurry to get it free for a year). After you have registered you can opt to either remotely log-on to your web-cam directly or have the service automatically send you regular updates.

The application also has a clever feature that prompts the camera to automatically take a picture whenever it detects movement as well as an option to allow friends and family to log onto the camera with their own unique log-in details.

In fact, I don?t think my house really needs cameras watching it 24/7,but to most of you, security is a pretty big issue for everyone and home security systems can be expensive.

Get the free software from home camera.

Another alternative would be to download a DVR software and configure it with the security camera.
